VOLUNTEER!yepp me, jolin, lindsey and ching ying went to volunteer for the Singapore Passion Run yesterday.
it wasnt the run yet,
it was just giving out number tags and stuff to the participants.
met all of them at pasir ris mrt at 8am.
and everyone was on time.
amazing?
we were supposed to meet junie at eunos mrt,
but we got carried away and alighted one stop after.
met junie and we continued our journey to Novena Square.
got our super damn big event tee.
the smallest size they got was size L.
and that means a skirt for me and lindsey.
we were assigned our duties.
i was a last minute chosen runner.
runner doesnt mean to run literally.
we all thought runner means running for the race.
haha but no its just someone who assist the counter person.
my counter person was Ee Ling.
we got to work fast.
okay it was quite fun,
running here and there to get the sizes and number tags.
but after a while got tired.
runners have no chair to sit.
lunch time!
ate at the staircase.
the food was so oily and it made me feel even more nauseous.
so in the end i dint finish and went to buy fruits instead.
more natural.
back to work!
i was runner for a while then Ee Ling swaped position with me.
i was the counter person now.
the same procedure goes like this:
"Hi, may i have your ic please?"
(check ic number)
(got number tag from runner)
"Please check if your name is correct."
"You ordered a size S?"
"This is your number tag and your timing chip, you have to bring these two on the day itself.
"All information are in this booklet."
"If there is no problem, please sign here."
(pack the stuff in a bag)
"Thank you!"
so i went on and on for i-dont-know how many people.
but it was really fun!
and i get to sit.
i was more sick than ever so i dint eat dinner.
it was almost 8pm and i was too sick to do any more work,
so i sat at a corner.
then everyone was asking me if i needed this and that,
haha felt like a queen.
ate panadol and i "slept" for a while.
ready to go home!
we were lazy to change out of our event tee although it was gigantically big.
took mrt back home and...
the whole mrt was silent except us.
reached home not so sick but slept very quickly.
the run is next week.
and volunteers have to stay overnight!
haha it will be damn fun next week.
