BALLET PERFORMANCE!

28 november (rehearsal)
so we met everyone on the train,
haha big project to bugis!
went to the food court there and had pepperlunch.
then still had a lot of time left so walk walk.
and the twilight fans were looking for their twilight theme in bugis.
but there wasnt any, only the wall and door.
hahaa.
made our way to city hall,
then walked through the esplanade,
pameline led the way.
i was just like blindly following.
went pass the "merlion".
oh and saw marina bay floating platform.
ndp memories..
but it became a soccer field. wth?
reached victoria theatre soon enough.
got into our freezing cold rooms..
had a dry run on the stage,
then went back our rooms to play!
plenty of time left before the next rehearsal.
played murderer, concentration, chop chilli chop?
had loads of fun then went on stage again.
watched other people performed,
while reminiscing our old performance times..

dinner was fried rice with fish and cabbage.
some said two years ago when we performed it was the same food.
haha.
went to change into our costumes after eating.
rhythm of spring was down next.
at the last moment all three of them forgot to put the flower on their head.
but no choice no time already so they went down without the headress,
then kena scolded by teacher.

while they were rehearsing took pictures on karis' camera.
haha some really spastic ones.
then when the others were back we took jump shots.
everyone had a solo jump shot.
haha.

retrospective memory;
thats our dance name in english.
lol ok went up the stage with our costumes.
gosh the light damn bright can,
and i lost my sense of direction after turning,
all is dark except the light.
cant see anything from the audience,
its like pitch black.

dint warm up and ended up with a bad left leg.
worrying cant dance on the next day.
practised finale then took the bus back to cc.
the bus driver went wrong way and we reached tampines much later,
at 10 plus to 11.

29 november (actual performance)
met in cc at 1pm.
then took the bus to victoria theatre.
we changed into our costumes earlier than we're supposed to,
just cause we love being in them.
was thinking if teacher will get a shock if she sees us in our costume and scold us,
but no she dint say anything and instead say the costume look nice on stage.
haha!
i brought my poker cards and i wasnt playing it.
lol.
cause i dint know what the others were playing,
just sat there watch.

rehearsed like twice then had to eat dinner.
the racial harmony dance aka funny dance people had another practice,
so we ate first,
and hid their food in the cupboard!
when they came back we told them no food left,
only have bananas.
and they actually believe it.
hahaha.
told them their food is somewhere in the theatre,
and they treasure-hunted for it.
finally they found it in the cupboard!
hahaa we're evil.

make up time.
argh none of us like that.
put our foundation ourselves.
we practically did everything ourselves except for the eyes.
teacher came in and fix that for us.
standard fierce-looking eyes she'd draw.
gosh i look like a cat?
applied mascara myself which doesnt make any difference.
maureen and isabella put fake eyelashes,
total makeover!

after all the make up we played murderer,
with poker cards.
we discussed it long ago,
if teacher comes in,
we'll hide the cards under our skirts,
cause we're not supposed to play. xD
and yes she came in,
and everyone jumped in to the middle,
laughing like mad.
teacher was like "telling ghost stories ah?"
and we were like "yah yah",
she believed.
lols damn funny.

played until the performance started.
then went outside to warm up.
luckily i was'nt aching anyomore.
took pictures before we practised our steps.
then it was our turn to go down.
right before we perform we're like good-lucking to each other in the dark,
and there it goes!
our one whole year of hard work,
its time to showcase.

the damn bright lights again,
but i turned successfully.
the five minutes on stage was just so wonderful,
especially dancing this dance.
the joy of performing.

those in funny dance went to change their costumes,
while we went up back into the make up room.
but had to go down again shortly for finale.
finale ended and the whole performance was a success!
congrats to everyone!

and REMOVE THE HORRIBLE MAKE UP.
taxi-ed back home with my mother and brother.

when we're younger these performances didnt seem so significant.
its amazing time passes so quickly.
but what's most important is that we enjoyed ourselves on and backstage.

im currently numb and aching from all the stretching we did yesterday in ballet.
and plus the basketball on tuesday,
im almost disabled!
lols hope i get better cause tomorrow's rehearsal,
and the day after is performance.

played basketball with venus, dawnie and robson today.
they came to the court near my house.
luckily there was'nt anyone.
started out making fun of venus,
cause they both so shy,
hahaha!
played with dawnie's ball,
then once, the ball bounced back and hit my head!
venus and dawnie saw the whole thing.
and i had a bruise in my nail.

went to eat after playing.
and oh now then i know robson cannot eat halal food.
LOLS!
you cannot taste it ok.
venus and dawnie drank soup.
i sat there watch them eat.

headed for the playground after "lunch".
"lunch" at 4 plus?
there they had a great time making fun of me.
i dint directly make fun the both of you very good already!
and im correct,
aluminium is found in the periodic table.
haha.
i climbed here and there,
slacked for a while,
then brought dawn and robson to the bus stop.
venus, "ahma taller hor?"
hahaha!

received a message saying have ballet at 8.30.
i dint even know there was practice.
but nvm go there dance dance.

ballet yesterday and today.
practise practise practise.
performance's just a week away!

22 november
GOT OUR COSTUMES!
gosh damn nice!
mordern dance style,
not the ballet kind.
different feel this time when wearing it.
i got yellow ribbon,
teacher ask me take yellow.
i wanted blue.
but i think red the nicest,
match the dark blue outfit.
our costume like grad gown,
like the hsm3,
but in blue,
and of course nicer!
haha.
danced the whole 2 hours with the costume,
omg its damn cool.
better than our purple leotard.
i wore the inside leotard wrongly,
then the back become so high.
lol.
after that then go change.
had to leave our costumes with teacher,
ahhh i want bring home!

our teacher say we look like penguins. haha!

23 november
rehearsed for like 4 or 5 times,
then the hip hop people came in say its their turn to use the studio.
so we move down to the 1st floor studio,
and guess what?
yoga inside.
we barge in,
disturb them.
hahaha.
dont know why,
probably teacher made a mistake,
no place for us to dance,
funny can.
no choice had to go home.

went dawnie's house today,
do guides blog.
but went gym first.
yay got to get onto the treadmill.
ran about 2km.
then after that we bought food from the petrol kiosk.
picnic by the swimming pool.
haha.
then went up to her house do blog.
stayed until like 6.30 then went home.
and the bus ride was once again terribly looong.

should i choose a red psp or a digital camera?
i know a lot of people would ask me take psp,
but a digital camera can take my darling skies!
so i really dont know which one to choose.
help please?

IM BACK FROM PATROL LEADERS' TRAINING CAMP!!!
omg this camp rocks can.
its the bestbestbestbest camp i've ever attended.
never had a camp as luxurious as this,
and never had learnt so many things and made so so many friends from different schools.
so here goes my adventure..

DAY 1
maliah was sick,
so i had to go camp alone.
when i entered GG HQ after a looong bus ride,
everyone was like a stranger to me.
then there was this friendly girl, rachel, from MGS came talk to me.
after a while, ms Hasna Alsagoff came in.
i was like "oh no she's gonna start her "old school" stuff".
she inspected our uniforms then we went on to our individual patrols:
-kingfisher
-jasmine
-dove
-hibiscus

i got into patrol 4, hibiscus, together with:
andrea (CCSS)
kai wen (BVSS)
tricia (WSSS)
wei qing (RGS)
shahila (SSS)

oh and ms hasna's really a nice person,
after this camp then i understood why ms huang say she's nice.
cos she really is.
she's so different from when i was in NDP.

i composed the hibiscus cheer.
ok its kinda weird.
H-I-B-I-S-C-U-S
hibiscus hibiscus are who we are
we are the best
we'll beat the rest
in some kinda flash
that you would'nt dare dash
so come on show us what you've got
we are'nt afraid of being shot
cos we know we're defeating you all

had practice of set ceremonies after that.
wow finally i know the whole correct sequence of roll call and Colours!

for Elevenses we had cakes.
then we went on to "heart of a leader".
learnt what a good leader is,
and alot alot more.
lunch was after that.
it was lunch time that i realised i have been around kai wen for so long,
from NDP to same hmt class,
and we dont know each other until now we meet in PLTC.
what a small world!
hahaha.
hibiscus' duty for day 1 was housekeeping,
so we dont really have to do much.

had Guides' Own.
we each had a piece of paper and wrote our feelings about guiding.
after that we had to plan a Guides' Own for everyone, in our patrols.
my patrol's task was to plan a Guides' Own for a first meeting of the year in your company.
so we decided to use seeds in our activity.
but we could'nt find seeds,
so we took weeds or smth as a substitute.
quite funny luh,
we ask them to plant the weeds for the whole year,
and it will represent your journey in guiding for that year.
but of course its for show only,
nobody can possibly plant those things we found!
hahaha!

tea break followed.
we realised we'll be having like 6 meals a day!
cakes again.
and that rose syrup.
was waiting for knots and lashings!
ms hasna taught us many new knots.
clove hitch, sheet bend, thumb knot, fishermen knot and some others.
prcs guides must really know this!
kai wen and i made a square lash.
finally we made one that ms hasna said it was ok,
after several times.

dinner time.
eat again. -.-
food was catered.
whoa we dint have to cook!
and we dont have to use our own utensils.
what a weird camp this is.
food was nice though.

went to our dormitories.
we were expecting to be pitching tents and sleep in them.
but we had comfortable beds and aircon room!
its like a hotel luh,
have wardrobe somemore.
all 24 of us slept in one dorm,
its very big you know.

had our shower.
i reserved to be the last to bathe!
hahaha i dont want people to hurry me.
and omg you would'nt believe it!
there was water heater!
warm water!
we were like ahhing and ohhing,
we're treated so well.

and i dint rush through my bath,
but still had to be quick though.
we exceeded the maximum time for bathing.
we're suppose to report by 7.30,
and at 8.25 we're still in the toilet!
hahaha and the most suprising thing is,
ms hasna dint scold us!
dint even say a word about it.
guess she's older and more understanding.
she's 64!

we learnt how to organise a proper girl guides campfire,
not some getai show as mentioned by ms hasna.
but i bet all school's guides' campfire are like getai show.
dove and hibiscus were in charge of organising the whole campfire,
while jasmine and kingfisher was preparing the fire.
we were all suppose to organise our own campfire.

learnt new songs.
and ms hasna's really particular about tune.
"dont kill the song!"
learnt manymany songs that prcs never taught.
nvm, next year's prcs guides camp we'll do all that!

Court of Honour next.
learnt how to do a proper COH.
prcs guides have never done this before,
or as far as im in prcs guides.
we must do this too!

milo and biscuits were for supper.
after supper went to wash up and sleep.
i chose the lower bunk.
kai wen slept on top of me,
i mean on the upper bunk. x]
i was a little mad,
wanting to open my sleeping bag when there's a bed for me.
i was like "clean a not?".
hahaha im very clean. xD
and everyone was like "open sleeping bag for what?".
ok so in the end i dint open.

DAY 2
rise and shine!
i set alarm, woke up first!
hibiscus were cooks for the day so had to wake up earlier.
went down to prepare breakfast.
had to carry tables here and there.
then boil eggs.

had PT.
was quite fun.
i pushed jeslyn all the way!
and she had a hard time trying to get me.
hahaha so cute.

i was the PS for the day.
wei qing was the PL.
we had roll call and colours in the hall,
which we practised alot of times.

had breakfast on the longlong table.
i sat beside andrea and jocelyn.
learnt some new graces.
the cooks and waitresses had to wash up everything.
i dint wash,
i dried them.

went up the hall for our next session.
time management and stuff like that,
what is the role of the Patrol Leader.
its 13th november,
and at like 10.52 i was counting down 8 minutes more to release of results.
then at 11 krismine sms me,
"i know your class".
omg that is it.
i was like so anxious.

we went down to the kitchen to prepare for Elevenses.
then someone sms me,
"congratulations! you got into 3/8!".
ok whatever i dont want to know anything about my class,
but since you tell me alr nvm.
i was like "OMG I GOT IN! I GOT INTO 3/8!" in the kitchen.
everybody there was like ehh..
they knew how anxious i was luh.
"so its that good?"
"YES!!!!!"
smsed krismine to check.

then at Elevenses my mind was totally off.
everyone was asking me to relax.
then i rushed off to the toilet to call krismine,
but she dint pick up.
so i called joe yee.
to confirm if im really in 3/8.
haha im in camp and i actually know my class earlier than she know hers.
she wasnt even in school.

joe yee smsed me when im in the hall,
so i had to somehow had to cover my phone while viewing the happiest message.
IM IN 3/8!!!!!!
yay yay yay!
couldnt really concentrate on what ms hasna was talking,
i was too excited.
but luckily i got back the camp mood.
i was so tired in the morning,
but after the good news,
i was wide awake!

played the telephone game.
wow my grouped changed the whole message!
hahaha damn funny.
then we had the picture game,
andrea drew what wei qing described.
haha cute luh.

lunch time!
im like still full.
we're fed so well here.
cleaned up again after the meal.

we learnt how to plan test work for our school.
and also make further plans for the future.
as a patrol we discussed a 4-year plan.
i went up to present with wei qing.
ms hasna dint comment anything about our work,
so its too good or too bad?

tea break!
cakes again.
fitrah cut the cakes so thin.
haha.
we ate too much on the first day,
so now we're left with very little.

prepared for campfire.
we were praying that it wont rain.
had to decide a theme for our campfire,
related to leadership.
i suggested the northern star, the polaris or smth like that.
yeah and we used that!
we made stars cut from cardboard and wrap with aluminium foil.

had dinner then campfire!
but it was drizzling so we had to wait.
"rain rain go away",
andrea, kai wen and i sang.
lols.
finally it stopped raining,
and we went on with the campfire.
campfire leaders were fitrah, shahila, wei qing and yin leng.
ge rou and i brought ms hasna in,
escorts. xD
ms hasna our GOH haha.

campfire was fun luh!
but the fire only came alive when we're about to end.
what a pity.
learnt how to put out a campfire..

ms hasna said we did a great job in organising a campfire!
three cheers for us!

we all suggested to skip supper and went to bathe.
i was the last to bathe in the whole camp!
while waiting very fun,
they all bullied ying yan,
throw things into her cubicle.
haha had a great time laughing.

i took like my own sweet time to bathe,
since there's no one else.
the whole toilet left me and kai wen.
bathed until 11.30,
and we thought everyone would be sleeping,
but who knows?
when we got in everyone was talking and chatting away,
using handphones and exchanging numbers.
its like our a chalet!
damn cool!
no one came in to check on us,
and we talked until like 12am then went to sleep.

DAY 3
almost everyone overslept!
me too.
luckily wei qing's watch sounded at 6.30,
then i got up.
soon everyone started getting up.

usual PT.
then i was the Colour Party for the day.
i was the left escort while wei qing was the right escort.
andrea was the bearer.
great experience being the Colour Party.

hotdogs and bread were for breakfast.
me and andrea tried out the four flavour bread.
kaya+jam+butter+peanut butter
its nice.
then i cut up an extra hotdog into 3 parts cos me, wei qing and jeslyn wanted.
lols damn weird can.

test work and learnt how to conduct games.
my patrol chose the pass the ball thing.
hahaha damn fun sia trying out with different parts of the body.

played games that other patrols conducted.
hibiscus's great at all aboard!
wei qing piggybacked me for 2 minutes!
i was so scared i break her bones!
she's damn strong.
we manage to squeeze into one tiny triangle for more than a minute!
well done hibiscus!

lunch time.
by now we were like 4 more hours before we break camp.
we dont want to leave!
our last meal together..

played wide game after lunch.
its fun luh,
run here run there.
in the end we came in third but the results for the quizzes we came in second!
and our prize was a first day cover.
learnt what a kim's game and wide game is now finally.

did evaluation then cleaned up our dorms.
had a fun time in the last moments at the dorm.
andrea pulled away the ladder so i could'nt come down from kai wen's bed.
so i jumped to wei qing's bed and jump down.
hahaha.
kai wen and i changed into our camp shirts.
we look like soccer players,
its like so big luh.

byebye comfy room!
so sad luh,
now its just minutes before we break camp.
we were all like "i dont mind camping for a few days more!"

went down to the hall.
took pictures there.
then swept the floor.
we had no dustpan so we went naughty.
we swept all the dirt into the gap inbetween the sliding doors.
hehehe no one knows that. xP

sang songs for the last few times.
me and andrea finally sung Taps,
the night time version correctly.
but we're always off tune for other songs,
and wei qing had to correct us. xD

time for breaking of Colours.
so there went the three of us again.
fall out but we dint sing Taps, funny.
took a PLTC'08 picture.
we each got an orange or apple,
cos there were too many left.
there comes the goodbye.
group hug,
exchanging numbers and msn,
taking pictures.

met sandy and the bus stop.
got up the same bus 53.
bused home with shahila all the way.
talked about our school guides and stuff.
her sister's in prcs.
haha small world again.
supposed to stop at the same stop as her,
but on the way saw yu wen so i alighted one stop earlier.

cant imagine i saw yu wen just when i break camp.
talked to her on the walkway, haha we dint know that too.
took bus 39 and reached home at around 7.

want to thank our guiders for letting me have this chance to attend PLTC.
i really learnt lots and have a better understanding of guiding.
the experience was priceless,
and the wonderful friends i've made.
yeah this camp was luxurious,
cos its a leardership camp,
not those kinda camp camp.
will definately bring back all the knowledge i've gained to prcs guides!

will always remember you guides from PLTC!
though we only know each other for 3 days,
its like we've known each other for so long.
hope to see you people some time!
